This is 5-year-old me. I have this photo sitting at my desk as a reminder to be kind to myself, because in many ways I’m still this little girl. It’s a lot harder to talk smack to this innocent face than to the one looking back at me in the mirror.
Hello, I’m Karen. Yes, the name is unfortunate, but I’ve decided to rise above it.
I am a writer who aims to share my life in a relatable, authentic, and witty way. I hope my words give hope to others—not because I am perfect (I’m not), have all the answers (I don’t), or am more knowledgeable (lol no)—but because I try to be real, honest, and humorous in the way I share my life with you. I understand that life is a little easier to live when we know we’re not alone, so hopefully, with me, you never are.
Real Space is like MySpace if you stripped out the glitter backgrounds, auto-play songs, and Top 8 drama, and replaced them with honesty, humor, and the parts of life we usually keep off our profiles. There’s no perfect bio here, no curated persona, and no pressure to perform—just real stories told by a real person figuring things out in real time. Think less duckface, more soul-searching; less HTML chaos, more emotional truth. It’s a space for showing up as you are, not as the internet expects you to be.
