This is a page devoted to telling you a little about myself…
Here’s some things you should know:
I love my husband, Adam.
I love my son, Brooks.
I love my family & friends.
I love my beagle, Maggie.
I also love the Yankees, Derek Jeter, the show FRIENDS, a bone-in ribeye steak, watermelon sour patch kids & the beach.
I have a best friend. His name is Adam. He also happens to be my husband. And I love him more every single day. I am so thankful for him and for the life he has given me.
He has a heart of gold and is a man after God’s own heart. His dream in life is to simply be a good father and husband, a spiritual leader in the home, caring for his family in a way that’s secure. You don’t meet too many men like that anymore. He is an intelligent, kind, sexy sexy man, and loves me with all of his heart. I am either a terrible cook or I don’t cook at all, yet he still comes home every night. Now that’s love.
There is no where else I would rather be than with him. He is my “lobster.” … Anybody??
As of October 16, 2015, I am a mom. And being a mom to Brooks will be the most important job I will ever have. It’s also the best job I will ever have.
I was born & raised a Jersey girl. I have never left. Not even for college. Some say that’s living small. I say you’re thinking small. If you can make it in Jersey, I’m pretty sure you can make it anywhere.
And for the record, New Jersey is pretty. Don’t judge us based on the Newark Airport. That’s just foolish.
I grew up a major tom-boy. I still am one, but I’ve grown up to be quite girly too. I played sports, was incredibly active, and always wanted to climb a tree over braid hair. It’s just who I was. We were a sporty, active family. To this day I still don’t know how to do a cart-wheel! I also never owned a doll. Ninja turtles and GI Joe’s, yes.
I’m an obsessive New York Yankees fan. A win or loss can literally affect my mood.
I can take any situation or any conversation and relate it to a FRIENDS scene or quote. (This can be incredibly annoying to people. Ask my husband. He’ll tell you the struggle is real. I’m sick.)
I have the best job in the world working for Liquid Church here in New Jersey. (Sure, let’s make this a plug – check us out here). I work with the most creative, amazing and loving people who are all on fire for God. And some of them happen to be my closest friends in this world.
All of this to say, there is one piece missing above that ties it all together. And it is the most important piece to my life. Above all else, I am Christian. The word Christian in our culture gets thrown around like a rag doll and has lacked a lot of meaning. When I say I am a Christian, I actually mean it. I am a disciple. A follower of Jesus Christ. I don’t follow a religious system. I follow a person. I am in a relationship with a God who loves me. I believe Jesus Christ died on the cross for me, for all of us, and my sins were forgiven in that moment. Jesus is my savior.
The point of this blog is not to convert you. Relax!
I simply aspire to live my life through the lens of Jesus, and I hope my writing captures that too.
I don’t always get it right. But I will always try.
I have one purpose in this life.
Love. Love well…
And to learn to braid hair. And a cartwheel, perhaps.
But mainly to love well.
